How the AI assistant works
The AI assistant monitors every incoming conversation in real time. When a visitor sends a message, the assistant evaluates it against your training data and either responds automatically or prepares a suggested reply for the assigned agent to review and send.Draft replies

Handle routine questions
FAQs, order status inquiries, pricing questions, and other high-volume topics are answered instantly without agent involvement.
Summarize threads
When a conversation is long or complex, the AI generates a concise summary so agents understand the situation at a glance before they respond.
Escalate with context
When the AI detects a query it cannot confidently resolve, it hands the conversation to a human agent and includes the full thread and context.
AI + human hybrid model
Agents stay in control at every stage. You can configure which query types the AI handles independently and which always require a human. Any agent can take over an AI-managed conversation at any time — just click Take over in the conversation view. The AI never blocks a customer from reaching a person. Escalation is always available, and the handoff is seamless: the agent sees everything the AI said and the customer never has to repeat themselves.Configuring the AI assistant
Go to Settings > AI Assistant in your workspace dashboard to adjust these options:- Training data — Upload documents, paste text, or connect a knowledge base. Storage ranges from 1 GB on Free and Starter plans to 10 GB on Pro and 100 GB on Enterprise.
- Response confidence threshold — Set how confident the AI must be before it replies automatically versus queuing a suggested reply for agent review.
- Escalation triggers — Define keywords, topics, or sentiment signals that always route to a human agent.
- Tone and style — Provide guidance on how the AI should communicate with your customers.
AI message credits by plan
AI messages are the automated replies the assistant sends on your behalf. Each plan includes a monthly allocation:| Plan | AI messages per month |

AI message credits reset at the start of each billing cycle. If your workspace reaches its monthly limit before the reset date, the AI assistant stops sending automated replies and all conversations route to your agents until the next cycle begins.
